Taylor Wimpey secures planning permission for new homes in Troon

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and Lynch Homes have received planning permission from South Ayrshire Council for the provision of 290 new homes through the development of land off Main Street in Barassie to the north eastern edge of Troon.

The 49 acre site is identified for housing in the Local Development Plan and forms part of the approved Planning Permission in Principle for this master-planned area.

The development in Barassie near Troon represents a significant investment in the local area by Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and Lynch Homes, and it will deliver a range of three, four and five bedroom homes in a variety of styles and sizes to appeal to a wide range of customers.

Taylor Wimpey will deliver 226 new homes with Lynch Homes providing 64. As part of the master plan vision for the development careful consideration has been given to the exterior design and feel of the homes to create a sense of character at prominent key locations.

This will see dual front homes and feature plots adding to the overall charm, appeal and sense of place within the development. Set in a rural and mature countryside setting, the development of new homes will maximise its setting with the provision of two village greens to offer impressive open green spaces with equipped informal play areas for the enjoyment of the local community. The development will also deliver impressive connectivity throughout with a good network of footpaths, cycle routes and woodland walks that will maximise its tranquil setting. Sustainable travel and connectivity sit at the heart of the vision for this development.

There will be good road links through the various parcels of the development that will also incorporate a local bus route to the rest of the local area, whilst the nearby train station at Barassie is within walking distance of the proposed development.

The development proposals for this site in Barassie also benefits from a Section 69 Agreement which includes contributions towards schools, upgrades to Barassie Train Station, community facilities, improved access to Struthers Primary School, as well as local transport improvements.
