Taylor Wimpey West Scotland event boosts Share Alike’s coffers
Following Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s recent Make Moving Easier show home event at Amble Court in East Kilbride, where visitors were encouraged to visit the development in support of the local charity Share Alike, the housebuilder is delighted to confirm that a £700 boost has been donated to the group.
This donation is in addition to the housebuilder’s ongoing commitment to working in partnership with Share Alike, based in East Kilbride, to donate £25 for each new home sold and legally completed at its local development at Jacktonhall, East Kilbride. As part of that project, a donation of £425 was made, taking the latest donation to £1,125.
Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “Following our Make Moving Easier event in East Kilbride, we are delighted to be able to support our local charity partner – Share Alike - with this donation to boost their funds which they will use to support the wide range of activities and services they offer to the local community of East Kilbride.
“Being able to support and work with local charities and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference in the lives of people in our local communities.”
Commenting on this latest pledge of support from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, Annmarie Campbell, founder of Share Alike, added: “We are extremely grateful for this ongoing support from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we are thrilled they have raised more funds for us that we will use to provide our wide range of projects to the local community. Recently, they also donated some ex-showhome furniture to us, which we used to help two young families set up new homes, and some items were used to furnish a new nurture room at St Kenneth’s Primary School for pupils needing extra support.
“We can’t thank them enough for this latest donation, and we were delighted to see so many members of the local community took the opportunity to visit the development as part of this lovely event for families. On behalf of everyone who benefits from our support in East Kilbride, I would like to say a huge thank you.”
Share Alike is a small community organisation run entirely by volunteers. It aims to encourage sharing and care to help alleviate poverty, loneliness, and waste. Share Alike partners with local stores to collect surplus food, and it also accepts donations of food, clothing, and small household items, which it distributes to those in need.
The money will go directly to supporting the work and services that Share-Alike provides locally in East Kilbride, including its crisis food service, community larder, fridge, and wardrobe, community wellbeing café with workshops, activities, and general support, baby bank, and participation in the annual EK Christmas Kindness campaign.
