Tenants begin to move into new council homes in Bathgate
Council tenants have started to move into brand new council houses in Standhill, Bathgate.
Hadden Group has been working on the construction of 22 new council homes at the development adjacent to Lang Drive in the Standhill area of Bathgate.
West Lothian Council recently took handover of the first batch of properties on site with work well underway towards full completion at the development.
The homes constructed as part of the development range from one & two bedroomed cottage flats to four-bedroomed houses and bungalows designed and built for people with disabilities or who require accessible housing. All the homes will feature PV panels and have been fitted to allow easy conversion for Electric Vehicle Charging Points.
This development is just one of many currently underway across West Lothian as part of the council’s work alongside Registered Social Landlords to increase the social housing stock.
Executive councillor for services for the community, George Paul, recently joined officers from the council’s housing service on a visit to the site to see the progress at first hand.
Councillor Paul said: “Delivering high quality, affordable homes are a key priority for the council. These new homes in Bathgate certainly match that description and I hope the first tenants moving into this development will enjoy life in their new homes.”
