Thomas & Adamson appointed to CALA Jordanhill development
Construction and property consultancy Thomas & Adamson (T&A) has been appointed as quantity surveyor and contract administrator for the redevelopment of the historic David Stow Building, at Strathclyde University’s former Jordanhill Campus.
About this development:
- Authority:Glasgow City
- Type:Residential
- Applications:
- Team:Cala Group (developer), Thomas & Adamson (QS and contract administrator ), 7N Architects (architect)
The project will see T&A deliver QS services and manage the construction process for CALA Homes (West) £100 million plan, which includes over 400 luxury homes built on the 31-acre site.
With the first homes set to be delivered early 2020, Thomas & Adamson will begin immediate work on-site, and will drive the delivery of the 67 apartments alongside the developer on the landmark project.
Chris Narrowmore, partner at Thomas & Adamson, said: “Jordanhill Park offers the former campus site a new lease of life after it ceased to be a teacher training facility in 2012, and residents will be able to enjoy luxury living in a location steeped in history. CALA’s sensitive and sympathetic conversion of the David Stow building will preserve the Grade B Listed building’s past and secure its long-term future, and it’s great to see this legacy will live on.
“Our international QS and contract administrator credentials and expertise working within the new home build sector will prove essential in the delivery of this project. The scale and complexity of it speaks for itself, and we have a strong track-record in working in this type of environment. We look forward to working with all parties over the next year and being involved in such a pivotal project.”
