Robertson Homes has scooped a hat trick of honours at the UK’s most prestigious housebuilding industry event, the What House? Awards 2024.

Robertson picked up the Gold Award for Best Interior Design for the six-bedroom Stewart Garden Room show home, after judges visited the St Margarets development in Rosslynlee, Midlothian.

The Thorn View development in Bearsden, Glasgow was given a Bronze Award for Best Development and the Stewart Garden Room was a Bronze Award winner in the Best House category.

Julie Henderson, Robertson Homes’ senior sales manager, collected the awards from actor and presenter James Nesbitt in front of 1,300 industry professionals, at a glittering gala lunch at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel in London on Friday.

John Murphy, managing director at Robertson Homes, said: “The What House? Awards are the pinnacle of the UK housebuilding industry, celebrating the very highest standards of quality and design, so to win three awards is a remarkable achievement.

“To impress an independent panel of housebuilding experts with both individual house types and whole development planning, design and construction should give all our customers confidence their new Robertson homes are amongst the very best in the whole of the UK. The same care and attention to detail at our Thorn View and St Margarets developments is replicated at all our developments across Scotland and the North East of England so these awards are recognition of the work of everyone within Robertson Homes.”

Rupert Bates, editorial director of What House? and Show House magazine, said: “It was a magnificent celebration of the very best new homes in Britain. The quality of the entries, yet alone the winners, was quite exceptional – testimony to industry excellence, with some great housebuilders and developments just missing out on awards this year.

“Once again, the What House? Awards, now in their 44th year, were the day the new homes flag flies highest. Many congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to all our sponsors and judges and everybody who attended the biggest day in the housebuilding calendar.”

Robertson Homes builds around 300 homes annually across North, East and West Scotland and North East England with eight current live sites and three due to launch soon. The company, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, has now collected no fewer than seven What House? awards since 2021.

As well as St Margarets near Roslin, the double award-winning Stewart Garden Room house style is being built at two Robertson Homes developments in the North East of England, at Lionfields in Chester-le-Street, and Wynyard Woods in Wynyard.
