Morrison Construction has secured a shortlist hat trick at the British Construction Industry Awards 2018 with nominations across different categories.

The prestigious national awards recognise innovation and project excellence across the industry and will be held in London on October 10.

The sportscotland Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre at Largs has been shortlisted in the Cultural & Leisure Project of the Year category. The £12m world-class residential sports training centre caters for a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports and activities.

In the Social Infrastructure Project of the Year category, Nucleus, The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Caithness Archive, has been shortlisted. The £20m project built in Wick, stores 70 years’ worth of information and up to 30 million digital records, including local archives dating back to the 16th century.

Officially opened by the queen in September last year the Queensferry Crossing has been shortlisted for Transport Project of the Year. The crossing is the centrepiece of a major upgrade to the cross-Forth transport corridor in the east of Scotland.
