Trident Building Consultancy appoints first head of Scotland

Ross McDermott
Surveying practice Trident Building Consultancy has promoted Ross McDermott to the newly created position of head of Scotland.
With offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, the firm believes the move will help drive growth and efficiencies, and identify skills gaps and introduce new service lines.
The promotion is accompanied by others, including Lloyd Anderson, who moves from principal building surveyor to associate director at Trident’s Edinburgh office, and Nicola Bates who has been promoted from secretary to senior secretary at Glasgow.
Ross, formerly a director of Trident Building Consultancy’s Glasgow office, said he was delighted to be appointed as head of Scotland and looked forward to a period of expansion for the business’s Scottish operation.
He said: “My role is all about bringing the two Scottish offices closer together by identifying skills gaps within the teams, enhancing our ability to serve clients, and driving continued growth.
“We will also be looking to diversify our service lines, with quantity surveying being a logical first step to introduce.
“As well as this, I will be responsible for mentoring our Scottish team and will be encouraging a growth mindset across both offices to underpin our continued success.
“I’m extremely excited to be heading up this initiative and look forward to playing my part in enhancing Trident’s reputation across Scotland.”
Dan Roe, managing director, congratulated Ross on his new role, adding he believed the changes in Scotland would drive significant growth.
Dan said: “Ross has been with Trident since 2016 and knows the Scottish market extremely well. This, and his ability to lead teams, mentor individuals and be proactive, means he is the perfect candidate to fill the new role of Head of Scotland.
“He already has some ambitious ideas, with business plans that build significantly on what we’ve already achieved north of the border. But I’m very confident Ross will achieve and surpass these, creating more cohesive collaborative and even more profitable Trident in Scotland.
“I’m sure I’m joined by everyone in the business in wishing Ross all the best in his new role.”
