Graeme Smith, former finance director, has been promoted to the role of divisional finance director providing support and oversight for all financial matters for Taylor Wimpey’s four businesses in the north which includes East and West Scotland, North East England and North Yorkshire.

With a background in consulting engineering, Martin Findlay previously worked for a variety of volume housebuilders including Bellway, Bryant Homes, CALA, George Wimpey and latterly Robertson Homes.

He said: “I’m delighted to have joined such a talented technical team at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland. I am enjoying developing and working with them to provide the most commercially viable solution for our land development opportunities, and to create value engineering through strong leadership within the department and the wider business.”

Craig Benson, who was formerly head of commercial and operations finance in SSE Distribution, said: “I am enjoying getting under the skin of housebuilding from a finance perspective – it’s an interesting and dynamic industry to be part of. It’s key that finance is a trusted function within the business and is able to provide specific and useful information to the business to help remain agile in an ever-changing market.
