Structural steel fabrication contractor J & D Pierce was recognised with two winners at the North Ayrshire Apprentice of the Year 2018 Awards last week.

Two of the firm’s apprentices won ‘Best Apprentice’ in their respective fields with Connor Bray winning the steel fabrication category and Billy Noble rewarded for construction engineering.

Director John Brown said the company is passionate about training new talent and was delighted to see Connor and Billy recognised for their efforts. The two winners are now both time-served in their fields.

Mr Brown added: “Since the establishment of our unique Training Academy, we have seen a real increase in the quality of our project delivery. Our academy, alongside the growing opportunities within our sector nationally, has attributed to the rising number of young people in the local area eager to get into construction.”
