Unique deal to boost farmers’ income and increase rural homes

Clyde Homes IMG_3539-1024x768Affordable homes manufacturer Clyde Homes Ltd and National Farmers Union Scotland (NFUS) have entered into an exclusive agreement which aims to diversify Scottish farmers’ incomes and boost the provision of housing in rural areas.

The deal will see the Glasgow-based developer deliver its affordable factory-built homes to be lived in or rented out by farmers.

Clyde Homes said it is delighted to be working with NFUS and Scottish farmers to unlock the potential for rural regeneration and to support local tourism through homes for rent and sale across the whole country.

Clyde Homes smaller-IMG_1104Colin Young, managing director of Clyde Homes, said: “At this difficult time for famers, with the uncertainties over traditional farm incomes, Brexit, and questions over ongoing support to farmers, we are delighted that NFUS have agreed to work with us to support this essential Scottish industry.

“Our commitment to quality affordable homes and reducing homelessness in Scotland, and elsewhere, is a perfect match for the NFUS’ own commitment to ensuring quality service and member benefits that enhance incomes for farmers.

“We look forward to working with NFUS and its members for many years to come and to changing the housing landscape in Scotland by providing affordable high quality homes that help solve the current homelessness crisis and make the chance of securing your own home available to everyone.”

NFUS members can obtain further information and details of the scheme directly from the Farmers Union and Clyde Homes.
