Veitchi Flooring announces new managing director

Stephen Logan

Flooring sub-contractor Veitchi Flooring has promoted Stephen Logan to the position of managing director.

The Cambuslang-based business is also planning a drive across the border as the company continues to be successful with contract wins in the north of England.

Mr Logan, who joined the company in 2021, will take over as managing director following repeat success both internally and externally in strengthening the flooring elements of the group.

“The culture of the company is among the best I’ve experienced in my career; we appreciate the value of hard work and the requirements to operate within this environment,” commented Mr Logan.

“The current outlook for the construction industry remains somewhat stagnant for 2024, however a stabilisation of inflation and potential falls to interest rates will hopefully see this turn to growth for 2025 onwards. This will bring its own challenges in relation to skilled labour availability for which Veitchi are uniquely placed to tackle and deliver for our clients.”

Mr Logan joined the director team at Veitchi in 2022 following a successful period as the company’s operational lead. This represented a change from his traditional role as commercial lead in previous positions allowing a balanced view on the construction process, whilst retaining the risk profiling common with a commercial background.

His appointment comes as John Brown steps down from his position as flooring MD to concentrate on the group’s activities and continue to drive the business forward across its varying sectors.

“Stephen’s appointment is a great milestone for the group”, said Mr Brown. “His dedication and passion have been key to achieving the performance improvements we have seen over the last few years.”

With Stephen in place, Veitchi say their focus is to continue to provide services to its existing client base whilst exploring new opportunities across the border in the north of England.

“Our model of directly employing operatives whilst incurring more cost gives us a unique benefit in providing security for clients, as does our diversity of offering whether that be top covering, raised access or industrial flooring. The benefits we bring through these delivery models are recognised by our clients who are looking for sustainable industry growth.”
