Veitchi Group makes key promotions in Interiors and Preservation divisions
Veitchi Group has promoted two long-serving contributors to directorships within its Interiors and Preservation companies.
David Smith has been appointed as operations director for Veitchi Interiors, the group’s specialist fit-out company. David joined Veitchi in 1999 as a joiner and has since progressed to the role of site supervisor.
Over the past 25 years, he has played a pivotal role in the company’s development, particularly in enhancing efficiencies and health and safety practices. David’s innovations, such as the pre-lift attachment of stair handrail systems and the design and patent of a bespoke lifting system, have been instrumental in the company’s success.
David said: “Veitchi has always been excellent at recognizing talent and providing opportunities for growth. I hope to continue this tradition within Veitchi Interiors as the company continues to expand, offering further development opportunities to our workforce.”
In his new role, David will oversee the delivery of all projects, ensuring the company’s high standards of quality and safety are maintained.
Martin Barghati has been appointed as operations director for Richardson and Starling, the country’s largest preservation company. Martin joined the company in May 2007 as a joiner and has since worked in various roles, managing projects ranging from £250 to £2.5 million. His experience includes overseeing the restoration of notable buildings and working on housing improvement frameworks in partnership with Scotland’s local authorities.
Martin said: “Our direct labour force and commitment to employee development provide industry-leading expertise and unrivalled customer service. Recruiting the next generation of tradespeople and apprentices will ensure our continued success.”
In his new role, Martin will manage the operational delivery of the company’s workforce through his team of branch managers, supervisors, and operatives, ensuring efficient project delivery across the board.
John Brown, group managing director, added: “There is no greater demonstration of a company’s positive culture than its ability to promote from within. Both Martin and David embody the company’s values and have been instrumental in our growth. Their appointments not only secure our future but also serve as an inspiration to aspiring generations that career development at the highest level is attainable.”
