Views wanted for development of Erskine Town Centre

Residents in Erskine are being encouraged to take part in a consultation which sets out potential improvements to the town centre and riverfront.

Council officers have been working to develop proposals to make public spaces and greenspaces more appealing as part of a review of the Centre Strategy for Erskine and short, medium and long-term actions have been identified for local people to consider.

Working to four key themes of role, identity, sense of place, and greenspace and biodiversity, the proposals aim to enhance the town centre environment, improve connectivity and accessibility, and promote better use of green spaces.

A public consultation event will take place on Thursday 22 August at Erskine Sports Centre from 2pm to 7pm where residents can speak to officers about the plans and provide their feedback - with an online survey available for anyone who cannot make it to the event.

Renfrewshire Council leader Iain Nicolson said: “It’s important that local people in Erskine will have the opportunity to put forward their views about the future direction of the town centre and how we can work together to make it an even better place to live, work and visit.

“The public consultation is a chance for people to look over the proposals and shape the next steps so I would encourage everyone to come along to the in-person event and to spread the word around the local area.

“If you can’t make it, you can still take part by filling out the online survey by 5pm on Friday 6 September 2024.”
