Wallace Whittle announced as new tenant at Marischal Square
Wallace Whittle, the sustainable environmental building services consultant, has relocated its Aberdeen team to a new prime office in prestigious Marischal Square from the West End.
Wallace Whittle has secured a suite on level two in 1MSq on a new 10-year lease and has relocated its staff to the Grade A building which is the most environmentally-friendly office in the city.
The state-of-the-art building comprises 122,000 sq ft over six floors and has the best BREEAM and EPC ratings of any office building in Aberdeen with sustainability features and technology embedded throughout.
Aberdeen City Council Finance and Resources Convener Councillor Alex McLellan said: “We are delighted that Wallace Whittle, a company which is renowned for its high standards and sustainable ethos, has relocated its Aberdeen office to Marischal Square.
“The development provides high quality office space with strong environmental credentials and is helping to regenerate the east end of the city centre.”
Wallace Whittle joins other prestigious businesses at the office, hotel, and restaurant complex including CBRE, Resident X, Royal Bank of Scotland, Chevron UK, KPMG, EY, Tenaris, Aberdeen Journals, NSTA, NESPF, Maggie’s Grill, Mackie’s, All Bar One, Costa, Tony Macaroni, and Marriott International.
Wallace Whittle’s fit-out at 1MSQ showcases what the company designs for clients with exposed mechanical and electrical services and fits in with the same exacting criteria for consistency and standardisation across the business along with quality of service and product.
Andy Forbes, Wallace Whittle Aberdeen location director, who has been with the firm for more than 35 years, said: “As a business, we wanted to emphasise our long-term commitment to Aberdeen and to support the city centre in any way we can but also address our ESG credentials and 1MSQ allows us to deliver on all of those fronts.
“We like how it’s become the major centrepiece destination in Aberdeen and the buzz of activity that brings - we very much see it as the place to be. It’s a major investment for us as the office is effectively a showroom – firstly it’s a working and collaboration space but it’s also an important entertaining space with the very latest audio and visual systems.
“We see the importance of having the very best office facilities to attract and retain staff and to make our clients feel appreciated when they visit.”
Allan McGill, managing director, said: “With our Aberdeen office being the third of our six current offices to be relocated to city centre locations in the last 12 months after Glasgow and Edinburgh, it was key for us to select the right location, environment and building to mirror our other offices.
“In Marischal Square, we really do feel we have achieved our ideal outcome and are delighted to have such prestigious neighbours and in turn, look forward to growing from a well-established base and location over the next 10 years.”
