Weather problems force Wick primary school delay

Noss Primary School court visualisationsMorrison Construction has announced the handover date for the new Noss Primary school in Wick has been delayed until March 2016.

The firm attributed the delay mainly to adverse weather conditions experienced earlier this year and the resultant impact on the relatively complex timber frame design. An assurance was given that every effort would be made to improve on this date if possible.

When it is opened, Noss Primary School, which was due for completion in December 2015, will replace the existing North and Hillhead Primary Schools.

The announcement was made at a meeting of the stakeholder members group for the new Wick schools on 27 April.

Members were also advised that work was progressing well on the construction of the new Wick Community Campus which will replace Wick High School, Pulteneytown Academy Primary School, South Primary School and the existing community swimming pool and library facilities.
