West Lothian site team named best at Persimmon awards
The site team from Persimmon East Scotland’s Merchants Gait development in East Calder has been crowned health and safety winners at Persimmon’s national awards ceremony.
Led by project manager Darren Adamson, site manager David McCormack and assistant site manager Robert Gray, the team beat off competition from sites the length and breadth of Britain to battle it out as a finalist at Persimmon’s annual awards ceremony in Leicester.
A panel of experts visited Merchants Gait and were impressed with the variety of measures taken on site to prioritise health, safety and the environment. From integrated QR codes throughout the site to the importance placed on mental health and wellbeing, the site team has been recognised for their innovative and forward-thinking approach.
Darren Adamson, Persimmon project manager, said: “Health, safety and the environment is a big part of what we do, and I’m delighted our approach has been recognised with this award.
“We’ve introduced a number of measures to make sure we’re doing everything we can to promote a safe and sustainable site and I want to thank the whole team for buying in to our approach.”
Neil Parry, Persimmon East Scotland managing director, said: “Health, safety and the environment is a top priority across all our development. The fact the Merchants Gait team has been named as the best in the business is a fitting recognition of their industry-leading approach and I want to congratulate Darren, David, Robert and the whole team for all their efforts.”
