Matt McLaughlin of Mauchline (East Ayrshire) and David Blair of Largs (North Ayrshire) both received ‘Pride in the Job’ awards from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

The two Barratt site managers were among 450 other site managers from across the UK to receive the award. David picked up the award for his work at the Waterside @ Ferry Village development in Renfrew. Waterside is a development of homes and apartments.

Matt received the accolade for his work at Riverside @ Cathcart, located on the southside of Glasgow. Riverside is a collection of two, three and four bedroom homes that includes apartments, homes and townhouses.

Known as the “Oscars of the housebuilding industry”, the Pride in the Job Quality awards recognise the best run building sites in the country and are the highest accolade a site manager can achieve.

The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are awarded following continuous site inspections by the NHBC of all homes to select the highest quality and best organised housing developments.

In addition to spot checks from the NHBC, site managers are judged on their consistency, attention to detail, leadership, technical expertise and health and safety, with just 450 individual winners being chosen from over 16,000 entrants.

This year also marks the tenth year Barratt has been awarded 5 Stars by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for customer satisfaction. For Barratt to be awarded 5 Stars means that more than 90% of its customers would be happy to recommend their home to a friend.

In total, Barratt Homes received the most awards UK-wide with a staggering 84 site managers picking up awards. In Scotland, 12 site managers from the West, East and North divisions were recognised for their outstanding efforts.
