Wheatley gets green light for Cardonald care home site development
A plan to build flats at the site of a former care home in Glasgow has been given the go-ahead.
About this development:
- Authority:Glasgow City
- Type:Residential
- Applications:
- Team:Anderson Bell + Christie (architect), Wheatley Group (developer)
Wheatley Group has been given permission to develop the land at Forfar Avenue, Cardonald, beside a bowling club.
There will be 29 one and two-bedroom flats for social rent plus one unit kept as an amenity space for residents.
Last year Wheatley and Anderson Bell + Christie revised the designs after a previous application for 30 flats, lodged at the end of 2021, was withdrawn.
In particular, the revised plan removed all exclusively north-facing single-aspect flats and generally reduced the number of single-aspect flats to five.
