Wheatley submits fresh designs for Cardonald flats plan
Wheatley Group has revised its proposals for a new development at the site of a former care home in Glasgow.
About this development:
- Authority:Glasgow City
- Type:Residential
- Applications:
- Team:Anderson Bell + Christie (architect), Wheatley Group (developer)
The social landlord has enlisted Anderson Bell + Christie to develop plans for 60 Forfar Avenue, which was most recently occupied by a care home.
Under the new plan, there would be 29 one and two-bedroom flats for social rent plus one unit kept as an amenity space for residents.
A previous application for 30 flats, lodged at the end of 2021, has been withdrawn following planning department feedback which led to a significant redesign and the need for a new submission.
In particular, the revised plan removes all exclusively north-facing single aspect flats and generally reduces the number of single aspect flats to five.
