Will Rudd marks retirement of long-serving company director

Craig Milne

Will Rudd has paid tribute to director Craig Milne who has retired after more than 40 years working in the engineering and construction sector.

Craig joined Will Rudd in 2009 and became director in the firm’s Edinburgh office in 2011. Since then, he has overseen the work of the technical team, providing strategic guidance, while driving business development and delivery of concept and feasibility studies.

Taking pride in his hands-on coaching role, Craig mentored dozens of staff members throughout their careers. He has also been very active in educational outreach with local schools to raise the profile of engineering as a career prospect for young people.

Gillian Ogilvie, managing director, Will Rudd Edinburgh, said: “Craig has been an integral part of the Will Rudd team for 15 years and while we’re obviously sad to see him go we wish him the very best for his well-earned retirement.

“Craig’s expertise in infrastructure design, SUDs and wider structural design has helped us to deliver some incredible projects, from Gracemount Housing for 21st Century Homes to the Mitre Bar Development on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.

“Will Rudd is stronger thanks to Craig’s coaching and mentoring and the whole team has benefited from his expertise and guidance over the years.”

Following Craig’s retirement, his client portfolio will be taken on and managed by four members of Will Rudd’s senior team in Edinburgh.

Directors Even Sorgjerd and Alan Lamb and associates Craig Johnston and Craig D’Arcy will continue to deliver industry-leading work for clients such as Cruden Homes, Places for People, Wheatley Group and Enterprise Holdings. All have been with the company for a number of years and have built wide-ranging expertise across both civil and structural engineering services.
