Winchburgh residential land purchase set to be approved
Cruden Homes could have an offer of over £1.2 million accepted to purchase residential land in Winchburgh.
The 0.6-hectare site at Glendevon Park was marketed for sale last year. The land is located in a residential area on the southern edge of the town.
The land forms a cleared site comprising of landscaping and parking having previously been occupied by two blocks of flats and garages which were demolished 10 years ago.
The site is allocated for housing and Cruden Homes’ offer is based on a proposed residential development of 49 apartments.
West Lothian Council had previously agreed terms with Almond Housing Association for the development of the site, but it subsequently withdrew from the agreement.
All the funding raised from the sale of this land would be invested to support affordable housing development by the council.
Council officers consider the offer to be the best in terms of raising income for local services.
The Council Executive is being asked to agree the sale this week.
