Salary: £35,292.00 – £44,706.00 (Dependent on skills and experience) Plus 6.14% market rate allowance.

The Role

Link Group is looking for an experienced Development Officer who can contribute to the delivery of a diverse programme of housing across all tenures. Link has an ambitious development programme which is targeting to deliver 3,400 completions in the next five years. We are looking for a professional candidate with relevant experience in housing development who can demonstrate highly-tuned project management skills and attention to detail and quality.

The key responsibilities of the role are the project management of a portfolio of projects which will contribute to the overall delivery of Link’s substantial development and community regeneration programme, preparing and monitoring individual project budgets for which you are responsible, delivering development projects in accordance with Link Group’s design and specification standards from the site identification to the pre start meeting. You will have responsibility for project viability assessments, progressing site purchases through the legal process, working with Design Teams and Contractors to progress project design and approvals and preparing grant submissions to gain grant approval for your portfolio of projects.

We offer a broad range of projects across all housing tenures and with a diverse range of client groups/stakeholders and always with a focus on design excellence, inclusiveness and delivering a high quality product.

By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to manage a range of projects from exciting urban regeneration projects to smaller bespoke projects across a wide geographic location. This will include working with a range of contracting methods from straightforward purchase agreements to more complex development arrangements.

About You

As Development Officer you should have knowledge and experience in all aspects of housing development projects from inception to site start, it would also be an advantage to have relevant post contract / on site project management experience. Experience in cost planning, viability testing and financial management of development projects is essential.

The successful postholder will have excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical and numeracy skills. An ability to problem solve and work independently are also essential to this role. You will be computer literate with intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite.

You will be experienced in leading and co-ordinating multi functional consultancy teams to deliver housing development projects and have knowledge of Scottish Government or Local Authority Affordable Housing Supply guidelines, procedures and protocols.
