CARPENTRY & JOINERY (1FTE)
FIXED TERM UNTIL February 2021
SALARY: £30,174 per annum
The Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Built Environment is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the post of Carpentry & Joinery workplace assessor to co-ordinate and assess within the curriculum area, to assess a range of candidates using National Occupational Standards at level 2 & 3.
Applicants will be qualified in a relevant subject to SCQF Level 7, as well as an SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent). It would be desirable that the successful applicant holds an appropriate Assessor’s Award or completes the required qualification within 3 months of commencing employment.
Having extensive knowledge and occupational competence in the field of Carpentry & Joinery with an understanding of SVQs. The successful applicant will be responsible for generating contacts within your own subject area, therefore excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to relate well to a range of candidates and employers. Part of your roles and responsibilities will be to: Plan and work with candidate to complete each unit, implement induction process, carry out direct observations, ensure that the candidates written work and practice meets the required standard, provide verbal/written feedback to the candidate, liaise with Internal Verifier and other relevant members of the team, complete candidate reviews as and when required throughout the award.
