Our turnover is £4.6 million, a major part of which comes from rental income.

About the Role

Our current Senior Maintenance Officer is due to go on a period of maternity leave in February 2025. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and committed individual to provide cover.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a sound background in maintenance who is ready to gain experience working at a senior level and leading our maintenance team.

As this is a temporary post, we would also welcome applications from individuals interested in what may be an excellent secondment opportunity.

The successful candidate will have

  • at least three years’ direct experience in developing and delivering a high-quality property maintenance service, preferably within an RSL or similar environment
  • direct experience of policy and procedural development
  • a detailed knowledge of the legal, regulatory and best practice requirements that underpin our service, including in relation to procurement
  • an ability to communicate effectively with a variety of different audiences, including public speaking/presentation skills
  • the ability to work on their own initiative, often managing competing priorities; taking ownership of issues and finding solutions to sometimes complex problems.

Reporting to the Depute Director, the SMO will manage our highly successful maintenance team and will be a member of the Association’s management team.

Applicants should note that, due to the nature of this post, some evening and occasional weekend work will be required.

Inclusive employer

Disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification will be invited to interview if they opt to participate in the job interview guarantee scheme.

The Association is an equal opportunity employer.
