Five consultants have been invited to tender for the next stage of the work to design a long-term solution to the challenges at the A83 at the Rest and Be Thankful.
Transport Scotland has appointed Raeburn Drilling & Geotechnical Ltd to undertake the ground investigations as part of the design work to identify a preferred route option for the long term solution for the A83 at the Rest and Be Thankful.
A new £1.1 million catch-pit has been completed at the Rest and Be Thankful to provide additional resilience to the A83. Approximately 120m long and around 12m wide, the catch-pit is capable of holding around 4,500 tonnes of debris material from a potential landslip.
