Rogue traders selling substandard insulation services have scammed households in Scotland out of more than £10,000 a week, with many preying on older customers, a charity has warned.

Scots have been urged to be on their guard against cowboy firms trying to cash in on home insulation scams by falsely claiming they have ties to consumer watchdogs.

A two-year equality fund has been launched to make Scottish workplaces, including those in the construction industry, more inclusive and diverse.
