An appeal that sought to secure planning approval for a new retail and housing development in Thornhill has been rejected by the Scottish Government.

A planning application has been approved for the development of 357 houses and 55 flats at the site of the former Bangour Village Hospital to the west of Dechmont.

The developers behind an application to provide a new retail development and around 70 new homes in Thornhill have submitted an appeal to the Scottish Government.
