12 Vanuatu athletes made the Village their home during last year’s Games The developers behind the Athletes’ Village in Glasgow is donating £5,000 to Oxfam’s Emergency Reponses fund to assist the cyclone-stricken victims at Vanuatu.

The award-winning Athletes’ Village in Dalmarnock, which was home to around 7,000 competitors and officials during the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games has welcomed its first new residents.

City Legacy, the consortium which designed, constructed and delivered the Athletes’ Village, has been presented with three planning awards at one of the Scottish Government’s most prestigious events.

Plans will be lodged next week for the second phase of housing at the Athletes’ Village, in Glasgow which could see a further 200 new homes built at the site, according to the Evening Times. A school and shops are also planned, with work due to start next year. Developer City Legacy intends to lod
