Proposals for phase 2 of The Village The developers of the multi award winning Athletes’ Village have submitted a detailed planning application to build a further 125 new homes on the Dalmarnock site.

The award-winning Athletes’ Village in Dalmarnock, which was home to around 7,000 competitors and officials during the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games has welcomed its first new residents.

City Legacy, the consortium which designed, constructed and delivered the Athletes’ Village, has been presented with three planning awards at one of the Scottish Government’s most prestigious events.

Plans will be lodged next week for the second phase of housing at the Athletes’ Village, in Glasgow which could see a further 200 new homes built at the site, according to the Evening Times. A school and shops are also planned, with work due to start next year. Developer City Legacy intends to lod
