Plans for a link road that could provide direct access from a proposed property development to the Gartcosh Business Park, the local railway station and the M73 have emerged as the preferred choice by a North Lanarkshire Council.

Greg Fitzgerald Morrison Construction, Morgan Sindall and Kier Construction have been successfully appointed to North Lanarkshire Council’s Schools and Centres 21 Phase 2 Framework.

The new, completed Maggie's Centre at NHS Lanarkshire has been unveiled by Reiach & Hall Architects. The centre is located within the grounds of Monklands Hospital.
