The Royal High School Preservation Trust (RHSPT), the body set up to protect and sensitively develop the iconic Thomas Hamilton building below Calton Hill in Edinburgh, has unveiled an exciting new vision for the former Royal High School.

Works leading to the restoration of a jewel in the crown of Scotland’s architectural heritage will commence immediately with the formal commencement of a lease agreement between the City of Edinburgh Council and the Royal High School Preservation Trust (RHSPT).

The former Royal High School building in Edinburgh is to be transformed into a £55 million national centre for music after the City of Edinburgh Council agreed to the lease of the historic property.
