Shetland Space Centre

An objection from Historic Environment Scotland (HES) to plans for the proposed Shetland Space Centre has been withdrawn.

Major planning proposals for the creation of a space launch facility in Unst have now been submitted to Shetland Islands Council on behalf of Shetland Space Centre by town planning consultants Farningham Planning Ltd.

Shetland Space Centre has lodged its formal proposal of application notice to Shetland Islands Council for a spaceport to launch small vertical rockets from Unst.

Plans to build and operate a satellite launch site in Shetland have been given a £2 million boost from private equity firm Leonne International.
