A significant milestone on the project to enhance the East Kilbride to Glasgow railway line was achieved last week.

Cabinet secretary for transport Fiona Hyslop visited the site of the relocated Hairmyres station this week to see progress on the East Kilbride Enhancement project.

Engineers will be working around-the-clock from 19 until 22 July as work to support electrification of the East Kilbride to Glasgow railway line continues.

Network Rail has awarded £61.5 million worth of contracts for the delivery of the East Kilbride Enhancement Project.
