Plans to transform the New Look store on Edinburgh’s Princes Street into a restaurant and hotel extension have been given the green light. Premier Inn owner Whitbread will expand its existing hotel into the adjacent retail unit to create 59 new rooms and a 387 sqm ground floor restaurant.

Premier Inn owner Whitbread has announced a £70 million investment in Scotland with plans to open five new hotels in 2020. The hotel operator said that the move will create an estimated 200 new jobs.

International support services and construction group Interserve has announced a major hotel deal with Whitbread PLC for a new Premier Inn hotel in the West End of Edinburgh. The 150-bedroom hub by Premier Inn hotel will be developed and built by Interserve on a site in Torphichen Street. This will
